Incremental change. Less soreness in my tummy. (Thanks for the prayers) Less "upsetness" in my stomach. Feeding rate is now at 120 ml per hour. I have a bit more energy each day. Talked with the wife of a pal, Mike J, and she reported that it was at least two weeks, after rad and chemo, that he began to feel like "his real self." (Mike had exactly the same stuff I have plus he had the surgery, so he's my poster boy.) She also reported that by 5 weeks he really felt good, and then they did the surgery. Can't wait! (Tougue in cheek.)
Thanks for the comments that you add. They cheer me up everyday.

I keep noticing the times that you are awake and writing your ramblings, usually in the early AM. Guess you have disruptive sleep patterns which is understandable. Hope you are getting enough rest, even if you have to take a nap or two.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to read that you have access to a friend who has been through this cancer. The rest of us certainly can't truly understand how you are feeling, physically and mentally, but we will try to love you through this ordeal.
Love today and always, Grace
Pops - That's great to hear that you are feeling stronger. Getting positive advice from someone who has been through this I'm sure is incredibly uplifting. I miss you and Nanny, and am praying every day for your recovery and her sanity :)

Great to hear that your new feeding plan is working and that you are starting to feel it! It's so nice you have someone to sort of walk and talk you through this journey, especially coming from someone who's been through the same thing! It's also wonderful that you're willing to share your experience with others which may get them through something similar one day as well!! I can't help but think of the little cancer patients you chaperone each year at camp - they are little fighters who just want to do what their other friends & siblings are doing who aren't sick...so they muster on!! Just as your strength and determination never cease to amaze us! Keep trusting that getting through these tough times, though challenging, WILL get you to the fun times again with your family & friends!!...and as I wrote to Lynda earlier, with all the prayers going up for you...God HAS to be paying attention!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you both,
Wanda
